Tomorrow people will be gathering for parties to celebrate the New Year or perhaps going to bed early. Another year is in the books and we have so much to be grateful for. I’m not one for making New Year’s Resolutions, but I am looking forward to 2017 and seeing how this blog will continue to grow. It seems most people are reviewing their past year so I feel I ought to do the same.
So what’s all happened this year?
Brown paper packages tied up with strings are definitely some of my favorite things! But as a momma and food blogger, I wanted to share a few of my favorite things with you. Not all of them are food related so if you think this isn’t for you, think again! Maybe you’ll find some last minute gift ideas for a special someone! Just sayin’. (I am not compensated for any item listed here. They are simply to share some of my favorite things with you using my own opinion.)
Y’all, with these days getting shorter and cooler, they’re calling for a warm cup of my favorite hot cocoa, a cozy blanket and a snuggle with my hubby, son, and puppy! I love this holiday season! It’s my favorite ever! I have to admit that I may be one of those people who listens to Christmas music many months before Christmas… but I love it!
Hey friends! Today I have a healthier snack for you that’s also kid-friendly. They’re “Na-cho” regular nachos! Okay, a little cheesy I know…
But, these Apple Nachos are a great healthy snack and super simple to make. You can make these “loaded” or keep them more on the simple side. Plus, during this time of year, you’re sure to find apples around every corner for the apple pies and homemade ciders. Instead of giving into all the cookies and dessert this season (which is a huge struggle for me, but we’re working on that…), try snacking on these healthy fun apple nachos!
All of these products listed are not sponsored and are of my own opinion. Hopefully they are things that also help you!
It’s been a year since I’ve been a momma and I have to say it’s been a wonderful year. Lots of learning, for sure. And lots of realizing that motherhood is harder than I thought. But it’s such a joy to watch the little guy grow! I wouldn’t want to imagine life any different.
In my year of motherhood, I have thought of seven things that have helped me so much. To any future first time moms, this is for you. You experienced moms already know the ins and outs of how things work, but if you have any additional encouragement for these moms, be sure to comment below. Encouragement is definitely SUPER important for any mom, but especially first time moms.
Okay, so besides the main things you need like a reliable carseat, stroller, diapers, wipes, and clothes, this is the list:
Sometimes you have one of those weeks where you’re tired of your everyday breakfast/morning routine and want something a little different. Well, look no further, I have an easy and simple Sausage Egg Vegetable Breakfast Bowl for you. Normally for us, the weekends are when we change up our breakfast routine but that doesn’t always happen…especially if we need to be somewhere at a certain time. So quick breakfasts are our usual go-to. But sometimes when we have just a few extra minutes in the morning, we love to make breakfast bowls. My husband LOVES these bowls.
I was asked to participate in the #CappTheNight campaign, sponsored by Hills Bros. Cappuccino. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.
I don’t know about you but I’m always up for a girls’ night, whether it’s to watch a movie with a favorite glass of wine or to catch up after time apart. As a momma, these are hard to come by. But when they do, count me in! With the Golden Globe awards coming up in just a few weeks, there’s another girls’ night that’s calling! And what better way to settle in with your friends and sip on this delicious Golden Caramel Cinnamon Creme Brûlée Cappuccino!
Friends, this Golden Caramel Cinnamon Creme Brûlée Cappuccino is not just delicious but it’s so easy to make! All you need is Hills Bros. Cappuccino Single Serve French Vanilla Cups, caramel sauce, milk, your Keurig, and a dash of cinnamon.
My slow cooker has definitely become one of my most used kitchen appliances. When I first got it, I didn’t think I would use it very often. But after having a baby, I realize that having a crock pot makes life SO much easier. Whoever invented the crock pot was a genius. This Fallish weather is perfect for soups and really anything delicious, warm and hearty. It’s especially great for this Slow Cooker Tomato Acorn Squash Vegetable Soup.
I can truly tell you that this is one of our favorite soups now. Even if you don’t really like vegetables, it’s hard not to like this soup. My husband can attest that he enjoys this soup! And if there’s a grilled cheese sandwich to go with it, he’s a very very happy camper. He’s such a trooper eating this soup for days after the half dozen times I’ve made it.
Pumpkin Peanut Butter Oat No Bake Bars. Umm…DELICIOUSNESS.
…we may or may not have a sweet tooth problem around here. Don’t worry, we’re trying to practice self-control. But this holiday season is making it difficult, especially since all the sweet things are on SALE! The struggle is real.
Happy November 1st! Stores are now filling up with Christmas decorations. Aisles are filled with pumpkin, gingerbread, chocolates, peppermint and everything fit for the holiday season. I’m still over here trying to savor each bit of Fall that I can.
While savoring the fact that today is the beginning of November, I made a Banana Berry Chia Seed Smoothie. Does it speak Fall? Not quite. But it’s definitely refreshing!
I, personally, had never bought or tried chia seed before. I kept seeing post after post about chia seeds and was thinking that I needed to try it. So, after several weeks of not giving into the chia seed trend, I finally did it. Can I just tell you that those little seeds are superfoods?! They are a bit smaller than flax seed and you really can’t taste their flavor. They have lots of fiber and other great nutrients, which help to keep you (and me) fuller longer.
