They seem to be all rage. But y’all, they are really just so simple. Mix together oats, milk and your favorite toppings and you have yourself a delicious breakfast. Great for busy mommas who are running around with their little ones or for making it to work on time. But it’s a really great grab-n-go breakfast for anyone!

I made these Overnight Oats because cherries are now in season!!! We love cherries around here. It’s sad that they’re so $$$. We’re going to have to start growing a cherry tree soon. Who doesn’t need a fruit orchard in their backyard, right?

My husband really enjoys overnight oats. He has to get up very early in the mornings so something simple and already made is perfect for him.

To make Cherry Berry Maple Overnight Oats with Chia Seeds, grab a mason jar, oats, milk, chia seeds, ground cinnamon, maple syrup, pinch of salt and fruit! Here I used cherries and blueberries because they’re in season. But feel free to use any other fruit! Peaches, strawberries, plums, etc. They’re all great in these oats. You can also add nuts for a little extra crunch.

All you need to do, is mix all the ingredients together in the mason jar. Then let sit in the fridge overnight. In the morning, take it out from the fridge and enjoy! Eat either hot or cold. I love them either way, but my husband loves his warmed. So, if you decide to heat it up, you may want to put the oats into a bowl to prevent your mason jar from cracking from being so cold.

Oats are a great avenue to getting needed nutrition. Oats themselves are heart healthy. But you can add almost anything to them and they taste DELICIOUS. For extra protein add some protein powder. To get some healthy fats, add flax seed, chia seeds, nuts or coconut oil. If you’re looking to increase your dairy or probiotics, add some greek yogurt. The options are endless!

Easy and healthy overnight oats made with oats, milk, chia seed, maple syrup, cinnamon and topped with fresh fruit! Perfect grab n' go breakfast for any day!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1 Tbsp chia seed
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup (or more depending on how sweet you like it)
  • 2 Tbsp chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1/4 cup blueberries

Instructions

  1. In a mason jar, mix together all ingredients. 

  2. Cover and let sit overnight in refrigerator.

  3. Remove in morning. Serve as is or heat up until desired temperature in microwave. Enjoy!
